The armamentarium consists of the trays themselves, extra material (included with each Wagner Tray) to modify the tray for larger mouths, 7-inch Dean Scissors to modify the tray to accommodate smaller mouths, and a method of producing a 140 - 150° F water bath for 1 - 2 minutes.

Place the tray in 140 - 150° F (60 - 65° C) water for 1 - 2 minutes. This recommended time and temperature will cause the material to become like a 'well-tempered compound'. How long you keep the tray in the bath depends on your preference of malleability.

  • Tray Preparation Notes

Place the softened tray into the patient's mouth. Push the tray into the palate with your index finger. Instruct the patient to perform border molding motions. Observe the results and adjust the tray as needed. Fit the tray back into the patient's mouth to refine your shape and confirm your modifications. Place the tray in cold water for 30 seconds to make the tray become rigid again. See each video for the particulars.

  • Aquasil Technique Notes

This is the technique that I use in my own practice using Aquasil Ultra Fast Set. It is efficient, precise, and consistently produces a very high quality final impression. Wagner Trays work wonderfully with your choice of both border molding and impression material. Use the appropriate adhesives for the material.
